Zelensky fires Ukrainian special forces chief as traitor
R. Gelfenstein - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has fired the commander of his country's special operations forces, the latest high-profile resignation to shake up Ukraine's military and intelligence communities during the Russian invasion.
The president signed decrees in which he was to resign from the services of Hryhoriy Anatoliyovych Halahan and appoint Viktor Oleksandrovych Khorenko in his place. According to the TASS news agency, Halahan has held the position since his appointment in August 2020.
By his Decree No. 530/2022 of July 25, 2022, the President of Ukraine dismissed Galagan Grigory Anatolyevich from the post of Commander of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
