Elon Musk says he's already uploaded his brain to the cloud

Ivan Rodriguez Gelfenstein - Tesla Inc CEO Elon Musk said he once spoke to a virtual version of himself after loading his brain into the cloud.

"I already did it," in response to a question from Dogecoin founder Billy Markus.

Presumably, Musk was referring to his neurotechnology company, Neuralink, which is working on developing a brain-computer interface. The device will allow a computer to turn a person's thoughts into actions, allowing them to perform actions like typing and pressing buttons just by thinking about them.

Earlier this year, Fortune reported that Musk said these devices would transmit information from the computer to the brain.

Neuralink has not yet received FDA approval, but Musk previously said the company plans to start implanting computer chips into human brains by 2022.

The CEO of Neuralink and SpaceX also said the device would be important for the human species to "figure out" how to coexist with advanced artificial intelligence.
